It’s funny how you were so excepting of their situation. Of course you were confused but you got over it pretty fast.

you had watched them defeat a monster on your way home from school and hid while they took care of it. You actually thought you were losing your mind.

He’s a sucker for laying down in your room while you listen to music and play with his hair. Also, teach him videos games and battle him. He likes to visit you all the time to complain or rest up. You are his battery charger.

Also, Grover loves you because you always prepare snacks for him. He eats anything, Tin cans and random things he could find but you take the time to make him something. Makes him feel loved and cared about.

You are a blessing in Percy’s eyes. The other kids made fun of him for his whole like. But here you are, not a care in the world. You do scold him if he gets hurt and about being more careful tho he enjoys that. He had a kinda normal childhood with his mom so he knew a lot of things like you did so it was easy to bond. You got all his references!

Percy likes it when you listen to him rant on about his problems, about how camp is, or how he killed some monster. He enjoys how excited you get when he tells his stories. You call him and the others your hero’s.

Movie nights are always fun with them. Either you and Percy are showing them a movie you watched or you show them something.

If it horror. Grover will be watching intently while eating popcorn unlike what you thought the first time, he likes it. Annabeth is screaming at the tv how they are messing themselves up and somehow ends up rooting for the killer, (she never will admit she yelps at times) and Percy is in the middle. Sometimes his curling up and turning away, or laughing at the screen.

They get to be kids and enjoy a sleepover, eating snacks and throwing them around, laughing so hard they cry, staying up “all night” and then crashing.

Everytime they return to camp they have a new photo of you to hang up. Even as a mortal you are their best friend and they wouldn’t change it any other way.

Part 2.

What if Eddie moved on from thinking Steve and Nancy should get back together when Jonathan came back and saw how they’re actually destined to be together even tho they still have shit to figure out.

I know it’s a popular hc that Eddie and Robin clock each other immediately BUT I still think that as two queer kids in a small backwards town they’re more worried about no one finding out about them so they wouldn’t notice someone else. So worried about themselves that they (like straight people) also fall into the mindset of ‘everyone is straight until proven otherwise’.

What’s the result of this? Eddie seeing how close Robin and Steve are and thinking there must be something there. And because Steve is a little more affectionate than Robin, now Eddie thinks he’s pining after her.

“Why aren’t you and Robin together?”

“It’s not like that. She’s my best friend.”

“I don’t buy it.”

So now Steve has to put up with Eddie constantly going on about how Steve should just ask her out already, what’s he waiting for, she probably likes him back.

It bothers Steve to no end. He wished society had advanced enough to realize that men and women can be platonic friends without having to explain themselves.

A nightmare.

And Steve would never out Robin, so telling him the truth wasn’t an option. And he really wasn’t interested in dating anyone right now, so that was out of the question. What could he do to get Eddie to understand that him and Robin would never happen?

Then he remembered. It seemed so distant but Steve actually tried to tell Robin he liked her once. It was kinda embarrassing to think about now, specially because he saw Robin as nothing more than a friend now. He couldn’t even remember what having a crush on her ever felt like. And maybe he never even had one, shitty friends and shitty parents maybe warped his perception and then he couldn’t see the difference between platonic and romantic feelings. Well, that was for another day. He could tell the difference now. He thinks.

He could just tell Eddie about that moment in starcourt. He would just leave out the part about Robin having absolutely bad taste in girls. Foolproof. Eddie would leave it alone now.

“What? She just rejected you and then you decided to become her best friend?” He looked surprised, like the idea was impossible to understand.

“And I don’t regret it. She’s the best friend I’ve ever had.”

“You’re crazy.” Steve didn’t expect that.

“What do you mean?”

Eddie looked at him and his expression was hard to read. “You’re telling me that after being rejected you didn’t need time away? Just jumped to being a platonic friend? Despite your feelings?” He scoffed. “I could never do that.”

“It wasn’t that hard.”

“Now I know you’re lying. You still like her?”

Steve really tried to convince Eddie that he didn’t like Robin anymore. But no matter what he would say he didn’t believe him.

So Steve gave up.

Now he goes along with it. It’s easier. It stopped Eddie from trying to set them up or whatever.

Except it didn’t.

Now Eddie came up with the absolute great idea of making her jealous. Which was so so ridiculous Steve had to hold back laughter. He didn’t mention how much Robin had heard about past dates. This was beginning to amuse him just a little bit.

“How would I even do that?” Steve asked, curious as to what Eddie would come up with.

“You know? Let me think about this.” He made a show of putting his hand on his chin, contemplating. “Show up at work with some marks on you neck. You know, see how she reacts to that knowledge.” Steve knows how Robin reacts to that. Before Vecna, on his endless quest to find ‘the one’ (what a waste) he had some hookups. One time he went into work with one or two hickeys on his neck. Robin wouldn’t even bat her eyes, just would ask ‘who was it now?’ and then ask if he would see her again. The answer was no. Eddie didn’t know this.

“Yeah well, I really don’t feel like going on a date and hooking up with someone just to use it to bait a reaction. Seems kinda cruel to the other person.” Steve thinks that should be enough to shut this idea down.

“Huh. Maybe you’re better than me because I didn’t even think about that.”

Steve doesn’t reply, just snorts. And he thinks that’s gonna be the end of it. There’s nothing else Eddie can really do or come up with. Right?

Wrong.

“I could do it.” Did Steve hear that right? Huh?

“What?” Steve asked.

“Give you a hickey. It’s no big deal, really.”

If you asked Steve why he said yes. Man, he wouldn’t be able to tell you. He really doesn’t know! It’s like someone possessed him and he was moving his mouth, but it wasn’t him. Maybe it was because he couldn’t come up with a reason not to do it fast enough that would convince Eddie.

They were both sitting on the couch so Eddie just leaned in and started on a spot on the left side of his neck. Steve’s hand instinctively moved to the back of Eddie’s head. One wouldn’t think so based on its appearance but Eddie’s hair was surprisingly soft.

Suddenly there were teeth scraping his neck. Steve let out a noise that he hadn’t heard before. He accidentally pulled a little on Eddie’s hair, he was gonna apologize but Eddie didn’t seem to mind, he just hummed.

“Did you just bite me?”

Eddie pulled back and sneered. “Sorry. I let my impulsive thoughts win.” What does that even mean?

Steve was gonna ask if that did it but then Eddie moved to his lap, straddling him. “What are you doing?”

“Getting the other side?” Makes sense? Honestly his mind was getting a little mushy and was only focusing on Eddie’s weight on him. When Eddie leaned in again, Steve’s hands traveled to rest on his hips. Eddie’s on his shoulders to have leverage, his hips hovering now.

Steve tipped his head back to give him a little more space. With more space Eddie seemed to be satisfied with that spot and moved lower, however this next one was sensitive to Steve, he’s always known that. He was gonna say so but he couldn’t, Eddie was already on it. He let out a breathy sound and gripped Eddie’s hips tighter making him slam back on his lap. He thinks Eddie moaned, he’s not sure tho. “Sorry.” He muttered.

He didn’t think he’d enjoy this.

- Controlling: Likes to dictate who the reader can talk to and what they can do, under the guise of "protecting them." She can tend to become stalker-ish and since she had good hearing, if she were over at your house she’d overhear the shitty things your parents were saying so she could eventually bring them up to you in conversation and make you turn to her for a source of comfort.

Also uses scary dog privileges and stays very close behind you, similar to Taylor but more so with you and doesn’t let you out of his sight. Ever.

- Jealous: Gets extremely jealous if the reader shows attention to others, even their own friends but learns to deal with it, knowing the group cares just as much as he does but never more than him.

- Idealizing: Puts the reader on a pedestal, believing they can do no wrong. He’s very attentive to their needs and desires. He praises them but in an aggressive, love-bombing type way. “Maybe I'm not smart enough…” He’d scoff and cross his arms ``Oh shut up, you know your grades are better than ours. Stop whining.” But he means well.

- Aggressive: Will lash out at anyone who he perceives as a threat to the reader’s well-being or happiness, including the reader's parents. That mean group of popular kids who laughed when you dropped your books? Yeah now they steer clear of you after Tyler caught them after school and lashed out severely, scaring them shitless.

Taylor:

- Charismatic: Uses charm to gain the reader's trust and affection. She always offers kind words and a big smile so its hard not to believe every word she says, shes so soft and gentle with it all. Is the main source of comfort, especially with the way every night for 7 hours has been going so she puts an arm around you and lets you rest while she watches. Watches the surroundings but also the way your breathing slows down while your near her..

- Stalkerish: Keeps tabs on the reader's whereabouts and activities, often without their knowledge. Literally had taken her and Tyler’s saved allowance to buy a cheap computer and now both take turns on days off from school. Are you at home? Oh your at the store with your shitty mom?? Time to go.

- Deceptive: May present a friendly and supportive facade while subtly isolating the reader from others. Often takes up on getting interested into your hobbies and things you enjoy just to pull you away from the others to talk to you about them and then keep you away for long periods of time.

- Overprotective: Will intervene in the reader's life, especially when it comes to their parents, believing that only she knows what's best for them. Calls on Tyler for brute force if ever needed while she holds you and tells you your safer with them. With her.

Aiden:

- Calm and Calculating: Observes the reader's life and plans ways to integrate himself more deeply into it. Very sneaky  about it but if you were to notice, it’d probably just look like his usual creepy behavior and would brush it off with his signature smile if you brought it up.

- Emotionally Manipulative: Uses the reader's vulnerabilities, like their troubled family situation, to create dependency on him. The phantom realm puts alot of stress on your shoulders but its okay! Aiden is right there to help you. Call him crying about it or show up on his doorstep and he’ll draw you in with love-bombing and telling you that he is all you need.

- Possessive: Feels a need to be the most important person in the reader's life and will remove any obstacles to that. He is one of the more skilled yanderes aside from Ashlynn and probably Ben. He’s got the good “I can play Psycho Killer’ tendencies and works well when he’s got the energy to take out any person he deems a threat to the reader. He singles out everyone else and inserts himself into situations or conversations often so you think about him more.

- Devoted: Will go to extreme lengths to "rescue" the reader from their abusive or neglectful parents, offering a new family with the gang. Can and will buy you things that you want or need so you rely on him and slowly come to him more. Constantly sticking close and trying to protect you from any Phantoms wandering near you. You get a scratch though? Yeah they won’t be around once he finds them.

Ben:

- Fixated Has an intense focus on the reader, wanting to know everything about them. Has a separate notebook full of pages about things he knows about you and everything you’ve told him. Its literally an unhealthy obsession at its finest.

- Unpredictable: His mood can swing between loving and harsh, depending on how close the reader is to him. Since he’s usually quiet, he likes to stay closer to you, especially in the phantom realm. If anything, humans and phantoms alike, were to become a threat to you? Its like his past hits like whiplash and he’s killing whatever threatens you in the first place. Now, with people he's more discrete but he tends to seek comfort after he manages to kill a Phantom and you happen to see it.

- Guilt-Inducing: Often makes the reader feel guilty for trusting their parents.’’ Why believe all the lies they tell. Is what I’m doing for you not good enough?? I thought you trusted me..’ would be the message you receive after venting about your parents but claiming they still loved you and you loved them. 

- Self-Sacrificing: Will do anything, even put himself in harm's way, to protect the reader from their parents and others. Countless times has he gotten caught in the cross-fire of trying to keep Phantoms from grabbing you. Gets fired up easily over anything getting too close to you but tries to keep his cool. He doesn’t want to scare you..

Logan:

- Gentle but Firm: Appears kind and understanding but can be strict about keeping the reader close. He keeps a soft tone but makes sure to be strict when the reader starts to sway back to their parents. “No it’s not safer there, I promise we can keep you safer..”

- Loyal: Deeply loyal to the reader and expects the same in return. Can become upset if the reader tries to distance themselves. Proves to be loyal by helping you with anything whether it be schoolwork, chores or even tasks before going into the Phantom realm.

- Protective: Has a strong desire to shield the reader from their dysfunctional family, often offering a "better home" with him and the gang. Constantly tries to persuade you by talking about how peaceful the garden is and all the plants and everything he helps take care of that you could see.

- Secretive: May hide his more intense feelings and actions, presenting himself as the "voice of reason" among the group but alerts the brutes if he notices things are off with you. He sees someone bothering you in the hall? Reports to Ash and that person is gone. Someone tripped you and laughed? He barely nudged Ben before it was taken care of. OK, before people come for my head, this doesn’t mean I find Peony husband a better person than the Envoy or that I ship him with FL (no thank you!), I just find him more interesting as a character for the same reason that I found Shen Yurong more interesting in The Double (tho in The Double, it was exacerbated by the fact that SYR and Princess Wanning actors gave the best performances in the drama - the mains were great but those two were another level. Here I don’t think Husband is giving a better performance than Envoy.)

You never truly know how Husband would act and which way he’d jump. He’s not the noble main character bound by the narrative restrictions (and censorship restrictions) within a certain path. And that is what makes him interesting to me - the complexity but also the uncertainty. I mean both actual MLs of The Double and Peony have a bit of an edge - Duke Su is dramatic and ruthless and starts out using FL and Envoy is dramatic, standoffish from FL and seemingly corrupt. But it’s a cdrama in this era, not a decade plus ago, we all know every minute they are actually good guys - no, Envoy is not actually corrupt and Duke Su is not actually murder happy - the former is saving the bribes for the people of treasury or w/e, Duke Su only kills death penalty people and both are super super duper loyal to the crown and of course would save the FL if she really needed it.

That makes them great husband material but it removes a lot of the tension I find interesting. No, a character does not need to be dark and/or unhinged for me to find them interesting - I loved 17 in LYF and am loving XXC in The Blossoming Love and those two are utter Boy Scouts - but it is hard to do in such a way they grab me.

Meanwhile secondaries are out there running free of confines of the moral messages which gives them an edge.

In the olden days, you could have MLs which were like this (I am thinking of Glamorous Imperial Concubine - the deliciousness of it was that Kevin Yan started ready willing and able to harm FL for his goals, not to mention all the “proper” historicals - think of Three Kingdoms or Advisors’ Alliance - those were not romantic heroes in traditional sense or a more recent example of Goodbye My Princess or Siege in Fog - except their inability to let FL go it was anything goes for those MLs) but for obvious reasons, this doesn’t happen much any more - the closest we’ve come recently is Kunning and Blossom and I adored both - there a lot of tension was that even after we realized MLs would die for FL, you often had no idea how they’d jump for other reasons and it gave us tension.

(Interesting side note is something like Eternal Brotherhood where even until the last episode, in terms of romance, I could not tell how Xiu would react to Ning - he was a very good person but the tension in the narrative came from his immense damage - every scene between them crackled with whether his feelings would win or his issues - it was constantly his issues but in every scene I kept going…but what if? That’s good acting and writing! But then there was the other tension because what Xiu was dedicated to was brotherhood and his platonic ideal of what a just society should be - which put him on a collision course with the wishes of his heart, and his friends and even the ruler - it gave uncertainty also. That’s a hard balancing act.)

Anyway this is a ramble so I will finish this failed attempt at an essay by saying - if cdrama rules allowed mains more edge and uncertainty, I’d probably be (even) more interested but as is, much as I love the mains, I often end up more drawn to secondaries in terms of interest.

In my HC, Cyno put a lot of attention in family.

Firstly because Cyrus was his only one family when he was a kid with amnesia, but also he grown up with Lisa as colleague under the same professor, but both of them consider Cyrus as a parental figure : without saying anything, a link it made of brother/sister. Cyno never knows his family by blood, and I think he was curious once. But he is satisfy with his current family ! And for him, family doesn't need to blood related. And if I remember well, Cyno said (during Windblum event, EVENT EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR ME 😭🫶) something like it is pretty current people in Akademiya becomes a family for study. It was his case ! Cyrus becomes his dad figure, Lisa, her senior, is like a big sister (I wouldn't never forget when she calls him little brother/baby brother) (AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA !!! <3). And when in windblum Cyno came visited Lisa, during their conversation, Cyno is the one mentionning the family bond she has with Cyrus "you are also part of the family, Lisa. It is normal for a daughter to talk like his father" (*CRYING*)! It sounds a tiny detail but I feel like this is so important for him.

Then came Tighnari, aka the first friend he had ever ! (I am a bit lost in chronology tho. In Tighnari's backsto, we learn they met when Cyno was already the general mahamatra while Tighnari was a student new-ly popular. But in Cyno's quest, we learn that they were student when they met ?? So Cyno was student and General ? 🤔 welp, I am still unsure but now I include it in my HC/brainrot kskdkd). And also Collei ! Collei is a bit more complicated, in term that she wasn't comfortable around him for a long time being. But even when she wasn't comfortable around him at first, she still gave him a bookmark handmade during windblum and saying he is like a family for him (I AM ON THE FLOOR). Tighnari and Cyno both consider Collei like a little sister, and bahaha when they "fight" about "who is the older one" and tighnari don't want to admit this loser being the older oh gosh i love theeeeeeem (I will never recover from "oh yeah but you're younger in your head, Collei could be your big sis !" "I wouldn't never say I am the youngest !!! Except if it is for an opportunity for winning TCG by shocking my opponent.." cyno you are so real). But during this windblum event again, Cyno said something like "you know Collei, tighnari said we are not an akademiya family, and he doesn't want to work on a post together" and this is SUPER IMPORTANT because for Cyno, as you can see earlier, only had family by study (Cyrus, Lisa). He worked, studied and published with his father and Lisa. And also, he did homework with Tighnari that he considers like a brother in soul. But the fact he was "refused" to do work with Collei and him, kind of make him feel to tell Collei "yeah we r family but, tighnari... ):"

As Tighnari answered "You know, we can consider ourself as a normal family" AND THAT'S SOSO IMPORTANT. In my HC, Tighnari is the one in group having a "good family" (not in sumeru cast, I believe it is Nilou who has the healthiest family). He knows what a family is supposed to, he grew up with parents who teach him a lot of thing and he explored with them. Anyway Tighnari is a healthy kid, he knows that they don't need to work on a project together to be a family. Oh and that's also why I HC him Aromantic, AroAce persons value platonic and familyship a lot more than romantic, so he doesn't know mind that Collei and Cyno who are not blood related to him are like a true family for him !

(Before continue, I want to talk his bond with Collei ; I believe he can relates on how Collei suffered from the seal, because Cyno who might forget his past, he remembers the pain. That's how in Tighnari's voiceline, Cyno often check how Collei is going w/o her noticing. Even when Collei was aware of Cyno and under Tighnari care, he was ready to help her. And in the first story quest, Tighnari said that she still awares of him. I wonder how often they talk abt Collei !! I am sure Cyno shares to Tighnari how much he woud like to get along with her, and that's how Tighnari gives him opportunity like this one official art when in description Tighnari said "I asked Collei to bring Cyno")

And so, that's how in Cyno's quest we were able to see all his closest friends. Tighnari Collei Kaveh Alhaitham Candace Dehya Faruzan (and Traveler). Everyone was worried for him, was wishing to help him, and was here for him. And Cyno also noticed he is less alone (GOOD FOR HIM). And now, there is Sethos, a man coming from nowhere in this life, but an important man ; they didn't spend life together but they can feel a deep connection bcuz of both of their backstory. Sethos might be the closest to understand all his doubt a long time ago (and Cyno IS the closest person for Sethos to relate). And IN CYNO'S VOICELINE ABOUT SETHOS "Aren't we his best friends of whole Sumeru city ?! 😐" Cyno pulled the power of friendship and adopt him in his big family circle.

ANYWAY WOW IT IS ONLY 8AM AND I AM HERE ALREADY YAPPING ABOUT CYNO BAHAHAHA

But genshin impact is for me more family impact that anything 😭 🫶 (and that's also why I am stuck with sumeru while FONTAINE AND THE HOUSE OF HEARTH ARE JUST RIGHT HERE ?!?!) after all, we are playing a traveler who is searching their twin !

I'm mad beyond comprehension about what they did to Nandermo. Like I'm not even asking for canon Nandermo (that would be nice tho), but could you for the first time in the show bring them up out loud? They could be like "Wanna go on a date? - Sorry no I don't think that will work out" and I'll be significantly happier that I am now. What was the point of this all? They become friends? Cool, great, I'll take that, but can you if that's the case please stop producing queerbait scenes with them?! With no deeper thoughts behind? Like it doesn't look like they are platonic and fine, it looks like you wanted ao3 writers to finish your job figuring out their slowburn. A series of headcanons on how your relationship with Eugene slowly turned from platonic to romantic over the course of the war…

So ofc Gene follows the rules, he knows there’s strictly no allowing fraternisation, so no matter what ways he feels about you when he first sees you, he has to push them aside.

you’re close tho, like probably closer to him than the other nurses are- you’re friendly and sweet and kind, Gene asks you often for help and advice and you’d do the same.

Sometimes he’d pretend to himself he didn’t know what he was doing, just so he could come visit you to learn and listen.

Listen, during the war he’d find you sooo soothing to him. It’s no lie the men were starved of female company, and Gene is no exception.

your warmth and presence is so inviting and calming- you’d be so mellow in the times when he thought nobody could be, he’d deffo get super upset to see you down or upset.

Maybe things would slowly get more touchy feely- not in a weird or overbearing way- but like Gene senses your stressed and rubs your shoulder, or you’d place a soft hand on his arm, rubbing his skin over his sleeve.

blushes like crazy- at first he’d be stuttering but I think over time he’d act so cool and collected- on the inside he’s a worried mess for you, especially out in Europe.

his gazes would tell you everything you needed to know, you’d both deffo sense there was something between you, but you know there’s no room to make a move- nevermind that there’s barely any time.

In Bastogne is where I think the friendship would become something with more… blurred lines?

it’s towards the end of your stay on the line, the nurses are kept further back, but you’re so cold and frightened, you got a little lost so you just bunk out in a foxhole not far from the rest of the men, comforted knowing they were around. Still- you were close enough to hear them, but it was too dark to see anyone.

So when footsteps begin rapidly approaching, you’re helpless and all you can do is turn around- your heart stopping and breathing rapid.

“Y/n?! What’re you doing here?!” Luckily it’s Gene who falls beside you in the damp foxhole. Your hand would be on your chest, exhaling in relief as you drop your head, attempting to calm your racing pulse.

“Y/n?” Genes shuddering, but more worried about what’s going on with you. No matter how much he’s suffered in Bastogne he’s still frantically concerned about you.

“I’m ok, sorry, Gene… God you scared me. I got lost out here, just stayed here. I’m too cold to move.”

He’d take one glance over you before covering your hands with his, rubbing them, pulling you closer into him. I don’t think he’d even do it consciously, but you’d be wrapped under his arm, warming up one another.

it probably wouldn’t take much when you’re in that position for you to move closer and share a kiss.

it just kinda happens? You’re both surprised but at the same time you’re not, you don’t speak about it after, but you go on sharing knowing smiles and lingering touches with the common thought in mind that you two just had to be patient.

when the opportunity gives- Eugene takes. If you finally get to be alone, at first it’s a little awkward? He’s a little nervous, but you two would just be able to explore a level of intimacy with one another that you haven’t before.

even if things move slow it’s sooo worth it, Gene would be the kindest, most gentle, patient, loving man ever.

it’ll take a while for the two of you to become any sorts of close. i can imagine your meetings (even though he's your own DORM LEADER lmao) will be brief and vague, sometimes seemingly halfhearted when he is forced to tell his dorm something, to which he usually just messages.

you’ll find him lurking and leaving his room in the late hours to get something or go the sam's mystery shop if it's still open for instant food or stuff of that sorts. nevertheless, you still are an ignihyde student so you two do seem to get along pretty well. even in those short moments— he finds himself being okay around you.

i guess you could say he is relieved you're one of the few people who won't make idia feel utterly awkward or uncomfortable running into so that's definitely some sort of a relief for him. in fact, that usually entails you two ending up hanging out together or doing something stupidly fun together.

aside from idia he actually did make an effort to get to know you in the first place and in his attempts to get idia out more, suggested you guys hang out at times! he’d claim and tell idia how interesting of a person you were— plenty of stories as someone who even has been or lived in their homelands, the shaftlands!! he wants to see everyone in the dorm get along well. so, you may see him actively trying to get you and idia to be friends as well haha

im sure you two did become unlikely friends though it's inevitable, especially with ortho. he is happy to see his brother get along with you, its very common soon enough that you guys commonly hang out together.

ortho is very sweet whenever you pass him by in the dorm or in school always saying "hello" or asking how you're feeling. he's happy to be able to get along with others in his dorm.

he's curious about you quite a bit considering he knows how the reputation of ignihyde students are well…. very reclusive and don't really interact much with others and other dorms. he has worked with ignihyde students in the past with favors and needing stuff for his film making club (like the magical wheel he needed for epel once) which usually makes him prompt to coming towards you a lot to inquire and get any tech and gadgets that could be used for films they're making… even if you may not be the most outgoing person, he’ll surprisingly feel quite easy to talk to.

if you tend to take on the habits of your fellow dormmates or your dorm leader, he will once in a while tell you to make sure you're taking care of yourself and make sure you're doing things like self-care or sleeping right. it's nothing harsh or anything but it's a small way he looks out for you as he gets closer to you throughout time.

you're like a favored student of his from that dorm, he has grown to be pretty fond of. you've piqued his interest enough and helped him out too that he does seem kinder to you in ways.

originally, he really had no interested talking to or frankly being around any of that dorm. besides like idia during dorm leader meetings, he barely even knew anyone there despite it being at least his 4th year in that school. he still finds it, unusual and even strange that you've become rather close to him (even if that may feel one sided but it's just leona ok)

he does tend to feel more content and okay with you if you’re more on the quieter side anyway. he does grow a small sense of fondness to you— he even finds himself slightly surprised as your the last person he expected to garner his attention. but nevertheless, you found yourself nicely close to him even if he doesn’t show it the best.

leona sometimes makes quips or teases about your own dorm, how considerably different the two may be. especially a lot at first before you two grew closer, he just found it strange almost, to find yourself close to him.

its funny because besides like ortho or idia and maybe a few various students of that dorm here and there in the school— ever so introverted and quiet he doesn't see that many of your dorm. even cater himself admits he doesn't seem to really know or have any friends from that dorm and he's cater! trey will muse he’s beaten cater at that by dating one.

you may have to get used to his dorm being pretty social, considering all the events they hold whereas you’re probably used to the cold and quiet ignihyde dorms. you may have to even adjust whenever you decide to come over and see trey, especially with people like cater or ace who are heavily social.

he hopes you’ll grow and find yourself comfortable there, you’ll find him laughing bashfully when pointing out their antics in comparison to the dormmates you're used to. you'll find him chuckling asking how you manage to put up with some of them, he can only imagine how different it must be for you.

There are so many unique feelings humans feel that have names. Such as opia​, the feeling of looking someone in the eye and feeling an intense feeling of vulnerability. As if someone is looking through you.

Or exulansis, the tendency to stop talking about something in the middle of talking. Often when the listeners do not seem interested or relate at all feeling the storyteller is jealous.

Of course, there aren't an endless amount of words. Like for example there is no word to describe the feeling of breaking up/getting broken up with over text late at night when you're young and having to act completely normal at breakfast with your family the next morning. As they had no idea you were even seeing someone in the first place.

There are no single words to describe that feeling. A very unique one. It's a similar feeling to what you feel now. Dumb, maybe a little excited, and egear. You met Johnnie Guilbert almost two weeks ago at a party. Being a mutual friend of Tara’s it was bound to happen at some point.

You immediately felt a pull towards him. He was funny, had good style, and above all else was nice to you. Not a common thing among most men nowadays. Knowing the nature of Tara’s friends you googled him as soon as you got home.

Immediately found his Instagram and followed him. You weren't sure it was going anywhere but one day he followed back and another party the two of you had been to led to texting for almost 4 days straight. Often replying in between tasks never taking more than a few hours to shoot another text back.

You had felt electric. You had kept most of the conversation platonic and respectful but as the sun went down and the days went on the conversations got so much more real. Talking about both of your struggles, your hardships, and your successes. It felt so natural and nice.

Tonight happened to be another one of Tara’s parties. You had not subtly put on one of the most amazing outfits yet. Your hair, makeup, accessories, and clothes fit you so well, perfectly showing off your style. You however were not radiating the confidence your outfit dripped.

You were so nervous to see Johnnie tonight you felt like you could have a heart attack from how fast your heart was racing. It had been almost an hour and a half since the party really started and almost everyone was there already. Except Johnnie.

It was stupid really. You hadn't even done anything super romantic or anything to suggest that toward him when texting. And you two certainly weren't exclusive. And you didn't dress for men so really the fact you felt so sad and embarrassed was bothering you.

So there you sat. One shot in. Shoving down a slice of cinnamon-flavored cake. You numbly shove the fork into the slice of pure sugar and place your fork in your mouth. It was then that you looked up and saw that Johnnie arrived. He was being greeted by Tara and a few others.

You felt a second wave of confidence folding the paper plate and tossing your items in the trash, passing the microwave’s reflective surface to ensure you still looked good. Nerves ran through you, your heart racing so fast you almost couldn't see.

You sat against the kitchen island waiting for Johnnie to walk by you and see you. You casually sipped on a drink slightly moving to the beat of the music coming from the music in the living room. The small crowd of people with Johnnie made its way towards you. This was your moment!

You tried to not look at him as much as possible. That inevitably failed when you finally looked at him, he was in a black button-down. The first few buttons were undone with several metal necklaces. He gave you a tight-lipped smile, nodding his head at you in acknowledgment. You looked at him and you could swear your eyes lit up with a flame.

He was so cute. But that feeling I was talking about earlier? When you break up with someone but can't say anything to anyone about it? That's what you felt as Johnnie brushed past you and went outside. He didn't acknowledge you.

You didn't move, just stared at the floor with your red solo cup in hand. Instead of your eyes burning with fire they burned with tears. You felt so goddamn stupid crying over a boy you aren't even with. You quickly pull your phone out to have something to stare at, not just look at the floor.

The tears gather in your eyes and at this point, you can't hide the fact you are crying. You quickly make a break for the bathroom. You slam the door shut. Tears spilling out of your eyes as you sob. Your fake eyelashes collect the brunt force of the water.

You let yourself cry for a moment. You eventually could hear the house music again. Your breathing slowed down. You used a piece of toilet paper to clean up the tears and retouched your makeup. You let yourself feel how sucky this was.

But if he didn’t want to be with you he didn’t want to. Oh well, what could you do about it? You step out of the bathroom. You move to one of the rooms further back in the house, finding a group of people smoking. You decided you weren't gonna let him ruin your night entirely.

“Yo! Y/n…” someone called out. You turn and see one of your old friends. They offer you a blunt and you happily oblige, holding the smoking plant to your mouth and inhaling.

Letting the cloudy smoke fill your lungs. You let out a breath. Your head buzzed with the hit you took. You decided to take just a few more. You were definitely buzzed, maybe even high.

You weren't gone by any means but you weren't all there. You made your way to the backyard through the kitchen. Seeing Tara, Jake, Johnnie, and Colby all sitting around a little campfire. There were other people too around but you either didn't know them or didn't care. “Hey guys.” you slightly slurred out.

“Yoo.” Jake laughed out looking at you. You could smell the weed on you, your eyes squinting with red. “Shut up.” you giggled out sitting down next to Colby and Johnnie. “Hey, where's Sam?” you asked, grabbing Tara’s drink from her camping chair cup holder.

Tara shot you an annoyed look as you took a swig of the soda. Jake giggled into his eyes and had never seen you high before. “Oh Sam has a meeting tomorrow he needs to be at so he didn't wanna drink a bunch tonight,” Colby said smiling at you with a small nod.

You only nodded your head in response. Staring down at the campfire. It wasn't really cold outside, more just chilly, but the warmth of the fire felt really nice. Your friends went back to their conversations as you looked at the fire crackling. You felt a jolt on your left side.

You looked to your side seeing Johnnie peering at you. “You ok?” he asked you, obviously referring to that you were staring off into space. “Yeah I'm good,” you mumbled out with a smile.

The orange glow of the fire made him look so good. Giving a slight shadow to his eyes. There were so many things you wanted to say to him. Tell him how pretty he was or maybe how funny he was. None of them were appropriate so you stayed quiet. You were getting very dizzy.

“Dude seriously,” Johnnie said, his hand holding your shoulder. Maybe you were showing how much you had a little too much as you realized you had been leaning almost over the fire. “Let's get you some water,” he said standing up.

You followed him with a small smile on your lips. You wanted to live in this moment. Share a giggle and relish the fact the boy you liked was taking care of you. Let it feed into the delusion that he liked you back. But that wasn't fair. So you didn't.

You just silently watched him pour the glass of water into a new solo cup. He turned around and in your current state, you couldn't figure out what his expression was like. Was he happy? Mad? Concerned?

You decide not to figure it out. You take the water cup from his hand and thank him. Intentionally looks away, still feeling his eyes on you. It's like he wanted to say something. If he wanted to be didn't just slowly walk away.

You felt horrible about not taking that moment to flirt with him. But you knew it wouldn't end well if you had. So in a way you had lost but in another way you had won.
